Kill and Half Kill

During a Texas Hold 'Em kill game, in the event that a player matches a specific condition – typically, they have to win two concurrent pots – then during the next hand, the stakes are doubled. When playing what is known as a half kill game, the stakes go up by fifty percent. The player who matches the proper kill condition has to put up a blind which is equal to the newly introduced lower limit. Mind you, this occurs with the standard blinds which have been set for the game. When the player who matches the kill condition has to place either the small blind or the big blind, then a new blind will be place either instead of or in addition to it. Certain casinos have it so that the killer has to go after the blinds. Other casinos make it so he or she keeps to the standard order.

Spread Limit

During a Spread Limit game of Texas Hold 'Em, the rules are identical to those found in a Fixed Limit game. However, there is an exception: the player betting is allowed to wager any amount as long as it exists between the minimum bet and the maximum bet. So, during a 10 to 30 Spread Limit game, a player can bet any amount between ten dollars and thirty dollars. As well, every bet and raise has to be equal to or more than the prior bet or raise, unless the player who raises goes all in. In that event, if the player does not place a bet more than or equal to the prior raise, then the player who initially raised is not allowed to re-raise. So, if Player 1 wagers thirty dollars and Player 2 decides to call, then Player C decides to raise and go all in at less than sixty dollars, then Player 1 is not allowed to re-raise the bet.

Pot Limit

For a Pot Limit game, the rules are identical to those found in Fixed Limit. Again, however, there are some exceptions. For example, the maximum bet has to be the same as the current size of the pot. A player is allowed to either bet or raise whatever amount they choose, as long as it does not exceed the amount of money which is in the pot at any given time. Minimum bets do still exist. When playing a 10 to 20 No Limit game, a player has to place a bet at a minimum of ten dollars during the first two betting rounds; he or she has to bet a minimum of twenty dollars during the last two betting rounds. As well, every bet and every raise has to be more than or at least equal to the prior bet or raise, unless the previous player went all in. If that happens, and the player who goes all in raises an amount which is less than the prior raise, then the person who initially raised cannot re-raise.

No Limit

When playing a No Limit game, then the rules are identical to the rules set during a Fixed Limit game, except that no maximum bet exists. The players can basically raise or bet whatever amount they like – as long as they have that much money. Again, minimum bets are still in place. Again, say you are playing a 10 to 20 No Limit game. In that case, then during the first two betting rounds, you have to bet no less than ten dollars; during the final two betting rounds, you have to bet no less than twenty dollars. Also again, every bet and raise has to at least equal, or be more than, the prior bet or raise. Otherwise, the rules are exactly the same as the aforementioned rules, especially as it applies to a player who goes all in.
